چکیده
Tar in the product gas of biomass gasifiers reduces efficiency gasification processes and causes fouling system components pipework. Therefore, an efficient tar conversion is a key step effective reliable syngas production. One most promising approaches catalytic decomposition species combined with hot cleaning. The catalyst must be able to convert synthesis at temperatures around 700 °C downstream gasifier without preheating. A Ni-based doped high activity was developed characterized detail. An appropriate composition transition metals applied minimize coking. Precious (Pt, Pd, Rh, or combination two them) were added small quantities. Depending on cleaning used, both precious co-impregnated pellets ceramic filter material. In case pelletized-type catalyst, revealed above 80% for 70 110 h. composed Ni, Fe, Cr oxides, promoted Pt impregnated fiber Al2O3(44%)/SiO2(56%), active compact system. This catalytically naphthalene 93% over 95 h deactivation.

Removal and Conversion of Tar in Syngas from Woody Biomass Gasification for Power Utilization Using Catalytic Hydrocracking
Biomass gasification has yet to obtain industrial acceptance. The high residual tar concentrations in syngas prevent any ambitious utilization. In this paper a novel gas purification technology based on catalytic hydrocracking is introduced, whereby most of the tarry components can be converted and removed. Pilot scale experiments were carried out with an updraft gasifier. The hydrocracking cat...

The catalytic combustion of syngas/air mixtures over Pt has been investigated numerically in a channel-flow configuration using 2D steady and transient computer codes with detailed hetero-/homogeneous chemistry, transport, and heat transfer mechanisms in the solid. Simulations were carried out for syngas compositions with varying H2 and CO contents, pressures of 1 to 15 bar, and linear velociti...

A continuous process involving gasification, syngas cleaning, and Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis was developed to efficiently produce synthetic aviation turbine fuels (SATFs). Oak-tree wood chips were first gasified to syngas over a commercial pilot plant downdraft gasifier. The raw wood syngas contains about 47% N(2), 21% CO, 18% H(2), 12% CO(2,) 2% CH(4) and trace amounts of impurities. A pur...
متن کاملCatalytic and Non-catalytic Conversion of Methane to C2 Hydrocarbons in a Low Temperature Plasma
The direct conversion of methane to C2 hydrocarbons, in a quartz tube reactor enforced by a DC corona discharge, was investigated at atmospheric pressure. The process was carried out in the presence of metal oxide catalysts of Mn/W/SiO2, Mn/W/SiO2 (tetraethyl orthosilicate, TEOS), and Mn/W/CNT (supported on carbon nanotubes). The total yield to C2 hydrocarbons in the presence of metal oxide cat...
متن کاملTar Analysis in Syngas Derived from Pelletized Biomass in a Commercial Stratified Downdraft Gasifier
A study was conducted to quantify tar formation in a stratified downdraft gasifier using wood pellets. The effect of biomass flow rate on tar concentration was also analyzed, and more than thirty compounds in tar were quantified. Among the different compounds in tar, tertiary condensed products such as toluene, o/p-xylene, naphthalene, phenol, styrene, and indene were observed in significant am...
